With over 45 years of experience, Patrick Ireland is one of the UK’s leading makers of high-quality, hand-finished frames and mirrors. Based in East Sussex and family-run, the business was founded by Patrick and is now led by his daughter, Abbie. Known for exceptional craftsmanship, flexibility, and a personal approach, the studio offers expert, collaborative support on every piece; combining traditional techniques with a sharp eye for contemporary presentation. Each frame balances proportion and visual harmony, reflecting a belief that framing is an art in itself.

The Story behind

Framing as an artform, made by hand in East Sussex

After years of framing his own collection and training in Florence and Certaldo, Patrick established his studio in 1979, specialising in hand-finished frames using traditional techniques such as gessoing, gilding, and marbling. The business later expanded into bespoke mirrors, where it now leads the market. While custom work remains at its core, the studio also offers a small collection of ready-to-order designs. Today, Patrick’s daughter Abbie continues the legacy with a focus on exceptional craftsmanship and personalised service.
