16TEN Rugs creates chic, luxurious handmade rugs that elevate interiors with their rich tactility and timeless sense of artistry. Designed in London by founders Lucy Todd and Sophie Clarke and handmade by skilled weavers in India and Nepal, each rug is hand-knotted, woven or loomed using high-quality materials including Tibetan wool, Chinese silk and mohair. Unique variations in dyeing and weaving ensure that every piece is truly one-of-a-kind. The collection is defined by beautiful tones, fresh contemporary patterns and softness underfoot, and is a timeless take on heirloom craftsmanship.

The Story behind

Rugs that weave tradition with modernity

Lucy and Sophie met while studying textiles at the University of Manchester and launched 16TEN Rugs in 2022 to celebrate and reimagine the artistry of handwoven rugs. Their designs draw on architecture, landscapes and ancient motifs, translated through rich natural palettes and an expert sense of texture. Sustainability is integral: in addition to maintaining the traditions of local weaving communities, the brand is a licensed GoodWeave importer, working exclusively with mills that adhere to proven ethical labour practices.

Custom and stocked handmade rugs

16TEN Rugs offers both stocked and fully customisable rugs, with custom lead times starting from 3–4 weeks. Complimentary curb-side delivery is provided within London, with white-glove installation available on request. As a trade-only studio, 16TEN Rugs can connect private clients with recommended interior designers.
