The mission at Ælfred is to make vintage furniture accessible to everyone. Co-founder Nina Hertig is passionate about the lasting quality and sustainability of Scandinavian design – highlighting that vintage pieces often far surpass new pieces in quality, for the same price point, and offer a truly sustainable alternative to fast furniture. “These products are so well made they’ve lasted for years,” she says, “and they have years more left in them.”

Nina believes that vintage Scandinavian pieces – crafted with skill and care from solid, natural materials – offer stability and comfort, qualities increasingly sought in uncertain times. Her philosophy is rooted in the idea of a reciprocal relationship: by loving and caring for these objects, they in turn enrich everyday life with their history, craftsmanship, and individuality.
