Whether a generous bathroom with a roll-top bath and place to sit, or a space-efficient shower room, Cotswolds-based designer Nadine Finnegan of Decurate believes a bathroom update is an opportunity to create an indulgent sanctuary. Her approach treats the bathroom as a true room – somewhere to relax, read, and unwind – incorporating statement wallpaper, chic art and accessories, beautiful textiles, and a carefully chosen piece of furniture or two.

Among Nadine’s current favourite artworks are Mud Oyster and Sting Winkle Shells – ink and watercolour works by celebrated illustrator Fee Greening – which bring a lyrical element. These are beautifully offset by a 1950s Italian mirror in rattan and bamboo, its warm tones and sculptural form capturing Mid-Century elegance. Together, they elevate a bathroom beyond the purely functional.
