This joyful children’s bedroom by Catherine Olley of Dauphine Interiors is a celebration of colour, character and time. Catherine’s approach to interiors is relaxed and considered: building a room slowly, layering in second-hand treasures and handmade details to give a space heart. The pieces feel vibrant, playful, and easy for children to grow with—and make their own.

At the heart of the room is a bold fabric by Lisa Corti Milano. Handprinted in India using traditional block printing, its rustic cotton weave is rich with charm—natural imperfections, deep colour and a strong sense of craft. Ideal for customising armchairs, cushions or curtains. Paired with a Gustavian Sleigh Bed by Scumble Goosie, the look is simple and sturdy, but with soul and softness.
For soft structure, the Rattan Table Lamp by Birdie Fortescue adds texture and warmth. Its natural finish and brass base would pair beautifully with a patterned shade. On the walls, Forivor’s ‘The Space Above the Ground at Night’ fine art print invites daydreaming—designed to inspire dreams of soaring high in a starlit sky. Printed on heavyweight etching paper, each piece feels hand-painted and makes a magical, imaginative gift.
We love how Catherine layers in one-of-a-kind pieces that spark joy and curiosity, like the decorative ‘Eddie’ Carousel Rocking Horse from Ian Snow. A hand-painted frame by Patrick Ireland—bright in yellow and white—adds charm. With its softly gessoed texture and bold palette, it’s the perfect finishing touch in a story-filled room.
